about

Recorded at Island Studios, London, 1978.
The Wasps also performed this song on one of their appearances on the John Peel sessions Feb 1978.
The song JJJJenny is autobiographical, concerning a young Roxy Punkette who is straight by day and a punk by night. She asked Jesse to write a song about her and when she told him her name she stuttered "J-J-J-Jenny" which appealed to Jesse and the stuttered name makes a great chorus!

lyrics

Feeling alright on a Saturday night surrounded by the rest of the floor show
Then the lady said no go moving along to an anarchy song
Picking up my change and feeling kinda strange as I moved off to the small room
Just over by the side of the ballroom where you can talk all night with any stranger in sight

JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun
JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun

Underground passion puss moving in time new wave under age raver
Think it's too late to save her she said it ain't no crime to love two at a time
She headed off home all on her own without any explanation
Changed in the powder room at the station
So she wouldn't look strange at the labour exchange

JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun
JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun

Jenny?
C’est moi Jesse
Je t’aime beaucoup Jenny
Trop peut etre trop no non c’est impossible

JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun
JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun
JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun
JJJJenny she's got nothing to say JJJJenny she's a part of today
JJJJenny says there's better to come she can show Iggy got it wrong with no fun
