about

"Teenage Treats" was The Wasps first 7" single released on 4Play records, released in 1977. This song was a favourite of John Peel's and was performed live on Radio 1's John Peel show.
Teenage Treats is now considered a punk classic and is featured on many Punk compilation albums.
The flip side was " She Made Magic".

lyrics

Hanging round when everyone was at school - Kind of easy but nobody's fool
Slashed red lips a little bit green - What could you expect from a girl of sixteen
Careless love upon the floor - Sulphate school girl cry's for more
The more she wants the more she gets - Ripped and torn and soaking wet

Teenage treats - take them when you find them
Teenage treats - take them when you're down
Easy meats – take them and you grind them
Oh, Teenage treats - I gotta tell you about teenage treats
I’m going to sell you some teenage treats - They'll get you unwound

Another Saturday back on top - Ligging around the Oxfam shops
Grim decaying - Rows of streets - It's time you gave your nose a treat
Up and down to a Vortex band - Peroxide charms from a debut man
Pogo powder - Perfect bliss - Put me down for some of this

Ah, teenage treats - take them when you find them
Teenage treats - take them when you're down
Easy meats – take them and you grind them
Oh, Teenage treats - I gotta tell you about teenage treats
I’m going to sell you some teenage treats - They'll get you unwound

Up and down to a Vortex band - Peroxide charms from a debut man
Pogo powder - Perfect bliss - Put me down for some of this

Hanging round when everyone was at school - Kind of easy but nobody's fool
Slashed red lips a little bit green - What could you expect from a kid of sixteen
Careless love upon the floor - Sulphate school girl cry's for more
The more she wants the more she gets - Ripped and torn and soaking wet

Teenage treats - take them when you find them
Teenage treats - take them when you're down
Easy meats – take them and you grind them
Oh, teenage treats – I gotta tell you about teenage treats
I’m going to sell you some teenage treats – They'll get you unwound
